Ingredients:
Pizza crust:
- 2 teaspoons of dry yeast;
- pinch of sugar;
- pinch of salt;
- 1/2 cup of warm water;
- bout 1 3/4 cup of flour;
- 1/4 cup (4 tbpsns) virgin olive oil.
Filling:
- 3 tbpsns of virgin olive oil;
- 6 tbosns of tomato sauce (can use ketchup);
- 130 g of fresh mozzarella;
- a piece simple cheese;
- handful of black canned olives;
- 200 g minced meat*;
- fresh grounded black peppers;
- Italian pizza spice mix**.
* Pizza Vegetarian: just don’t use meat. It’s enough of ingredients, if desired you can add more cheese and olives.
** Great spice mix I got from Italy, Capri Island. It’s totally amazing. However, you can make a similar mix at home: use dried basil, oregano, sun dried tomatoes and garlic. Also can use a bit of salt. But just make sure, you’re using fresh spices. Better buy them in a spice store, somewhere you can make sure it is really good quality. Believe me, it’s very important, and not only for a pizza.
Instructions
- Combine 1/2 cup of flour, sugar, salt, yeast and water. Mix and leave for 10 minutes. Then add oil, the rest of the flour and make pastry. Knead on a floured surface at least for 8 minutes (can knead for 10 as well). Divide it in 3 parts and let rise (it will take proximally an hour).
- Bake minced meat in a pan, over medium heat. Do not use any oil or butter. You don’t even need to add salt or spices. Just meat. Let it stay in pan, when it’s ready.
- When your pastry will be double size, you can start kneading again. Roll a very thin crust (don’t try to make it perfect round, it looks even more tasty being so not perfect). Preheat oven to 200°C (390 F) temperature. Put pizza crust on a tin. To one piece of pizza, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and two spoons of tomato sauce, spread it all over. Add mozzarella, baked meat, grated simple cheese and olives. Sprinkle peppers and spices. Add to hot oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Do the same with the rest. As I mentioned, you’re going to get 3 medium pizzas. That’s it, enjoy!
